Lent Devotion | Day 9

Isaiah 53:4 (NIV)

Surely he took up our pain and bore our suffering, yet we considered him punished by God, stricken by him, and afflicted.

It is amazing how easily offended our generation has become today, so much so that it is unthinkable that we would even consider allowing ourselves to be falsely accused and punished for something that we didn't do.

And yet here is where we find Christ, in his most pure and sinless posture. Taking our sins and shortcomings on himself on our behalf so that we, no matter how deserving, wouldn't have to.

This Lenten season spend more time reflecting on how God might be prompting you to extend forgiveness towards others.

Instead of choosing to be offended, let’s choose to show grace and forgiveness to those who hurt us.
