Lent Devotion | Day 20
Isaiah 40:31 (NIV)
They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
There is something beautiful in watching an eagle soar gracefully in the sky. It stops us in our tracks and forces us to look up and marvel at the majestic flight. Did you know that an eagle can soar for hundreds of miles without losing strength and can rise to heights of over a mile?
Isaiah reminds us that even the youth grow weary and that we cannot rely on our own strength, we need something more – Jesus!
Think of a really hard time in your life when, looking back, you can say “I don’t know how I got through it.” God’s strength never diminishes and he is never too tired or too busy to help us.
We just need to seek him as our supplier. We can RISE up above our difficulties. If you feel like you can’t take another step, call upon God and he will renew your strength.
When life gets you down, God spreads His wings and invites you on a majestic ride that can take you soaring to distances you never imagined. Are you ready?
